Crossan, Jack

The Late Jack Crossan Mr Jack Crossan, formerly of Cootehill, Co. Cavan and of Wembley, London died in Harrow-on-the-Hill Hospital, London, on Christmas Eve, 2002, following a short illness. He emigrated to London, shortly after the Second World War on St. Patrick's Day, 1949 in search of employment and later built-up a successful construction business, which continues to flourish. It provided many Irish emigrants, especially those from Cavan and Galway, was work for his company Powerday Ltd. Jack, a jovial character, enjoyed meeting and getting to know people form all walks of life. He never forgot his roots and loved to visit Galway and, in particular, Peterswell and Gort, where over the years he made many friends.He took a keen interest in the GAA and always travelled home for football and hurling finals. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (nee Deely Peterswell); two sons, Seán and Michael; daughters-in-law and grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and a wide circle of friends from Cavan, London and Galway.
