GAA Pundit: Think you know GAA? Let's see you prove it!

January 26, 2016

A great idea for clubs to raise much needed funds

How does GAA Pundit Work?

The object of the game is to predict what the outcome of a given match will be on a given day.

If your selection is correct then you will get the points that they score in the match as your score for that match eg 1-15 = 18 points.
If they lose you get 0.

If the match ends in a draw you get 0 unless you selected a draw which means you would get the score from both teams eg 1-10 to 0-13 = 26 points.

If you select a draw & there is a positive outcome in the match for one team or the other, you score 0.

This selection process & scoring mechanism is done for all the games in the given week - Monday to Sunday.

There is also a feature called 'Fixture of the Week'. This gives the user an opportunity to double the score they get on 1 of the fixtures in that week.

Your score for each match is added together, to give you your Weekly Score. Each week added to give your Overall Score.

The competition will last for the length of the GAA League Season - Men's Football & Hurling.

There will be an overall prize at the end of the competition - €1000 to the winner.

There will also be prizes for the top 10

In addition there will be weekly prizes for the best score of that week.

About the Website

The website address is www.gaapundit.com

Although an App hasn't been developed as of yet for the smartphone/tablet market, the website automatically adjusts to the users screen resolution.

It consists of Home, Selection, Fixture, Results, Standings, & Information pages

Below are a couple of screen shoots of the actual website as it looks at the moment…

What benefit is there for my GAA Club you may ask?

To join the website it costs €20 annually & primarily we are trying to sell the product through local GAA Clubs.

Every GAA Club that wants to join GAA Pundit will be given a unique quote to create their own league.

When the Club member uses this code to join the site, 50% of the sign on fee will be given to the GAA Club.

The Club can then use the monies generated from this to fund coaching, sporting goods etc or give some towards a prize fund for their own league.

There is no fee charged to the Club for:

1) Availing of our Game - starting a league

2) The running of their League

* There is also no minimum/maximum number of participants requirement.

Annual Membership Breakdown

We have teamed up the Irish Cancer Society who will benefit to the tune of 25% of every membership from the site.

€20 paid via Paypal.

Each transaction via PayPal will be charged fee

of 3.4% of Annual Membership price + 0.35c which means for each membership to GAA Pundit, GAA Pundit receives €18.97

So

50% will go to the Club - €9.48

25% goes to Irish Cancer Society - €4.74

25% goes to GAA Pundit - €4.74
