Bailieborough Shamrocks Club Notes
May 20, 2013
Seniors
Regrettably there is no match report this week as our fixture with Laragh United on Saturday evening did not go ahead as the pitch in Laragh was deemed to be unplayable. There was some frustration with the fact that this decision was not made until the Bailieborough squad had assembled in Stradone. Despite this there was little that could be done at the time and the team management must now refocus the players for 2 matches against Cornafean (away) and Mountnugent (away) on Friday night and Sunday respectively. In the meantime the reserve team must travel to Cornafean for a single fixture on Wednesday night.
Training continues this week on Monday night at 8 pm - all players senior and junior please attend.
Ladies
The senior ladies were in action in the Division 2 league on Sunday in Ballymachugh. Unfortunately the girls came up short on this occasion and were beaten by three points. The Division 4 game against Mountnugent was postponed and may be played next weekend.
Hard luck to Holly Lynch, Nicole Fleming and Chelsi Curran who represented the club in the Ulster Minor final against Donegal on Saturday last. Unfortunately the girls didn't come away with silverware but congratulations on reaching the decider and representing the club at county level.
Under 14s
The under 14 team hosted Drumlane in the league on Monday night and chalked up a good victory.
County Team
Well done to all concerned on the championship victory over Armagh on Sunday. Congratulations to Bailieborough's representative Conor Gilsenan who made his senior inter county debut and acquitted himself well in goals.
