David Givney has collected medals on the interprovincial and college scenes already this year and now the Cavan midfielder is hungry for a taste of intercounty senior success.

The Mountnugent clubman hasn't enjoyed the best of championship times at senior level since making his debut in 2009 but hopes that this year will be different - starting with Armagh on Sunday.

"I don't have a whole lot of good memories [of the championship]. It's been a mixed bag," Givney admitted to Gaelic Life.

"We had one or two good performances in the last two years or so, but it hasn't been great for me in championship football.

"But that's something I would like to change personally. I feel that I haven't performed as well as I can for Cavan.

"That is something that I want to rectify this year." Tweet
