Niall O'Donnell was majestic as Donegal put 14-man Cavan to the sword in a one-sided Ulster U20FC first round clash at Celtic Park.

O'Donnell scored 1-12 for Gary McDaid's men who were always in control and led by 1-10 to 0-4 at the interval. Points from O'Donnell, Shane McGrath and Peader Mogan had Donegal four up before Luke Molloy replied for Cavan. Five minutes before half-time, O'Donnell set up wing back Nathan Boyle for a superb goal and Shane McDevitt and O'Donnell tagged on points to leave the winners firmly in the driving seat

Donegal continued to dominate after the restart and Cavan's frustration showed when sub Gavin Daly received a straight red card in the 49th minute. Two minutes later, O'Donnell palmed home Ryan Cunningham's centre to complete the rout and earn Donegal a quarter-final meeting with Derry in Omagh next Sunday.
