All Ireland Scor..Hard luck to the Cornafean Quiz Team, Senior Scor All Ireland Finalists, in Sligo at the weekend who finished fourth out of 28 counties after an excellent display in the final.  The lads lost narrowly to Monaleen from Limerick after a tie breaker round for 3rd place.  Well done to Martin Maguire, Brian Doyle, Michael Dinneny and Tommy Mcgibney on their excellent effort and no doubt the team will be back next year.  Also well done to the Mullahoran Instrumental Music and Crosserlough Set Dancers on their performances in the final but were unfortunately unsuccessful.

Gallant Challenge

On Wednesday 4th April the Gallant Challenge proceeds for 2017 was presented to Mr Jim Lalor Chairman of Saint Christopher's Hospice Cavan in Saint Christopher's. A cheque of €20,100 was handed over on the night.

On behalf of the Gallant Challenge Committee Ciaran Weir would like to sincerely thank everyone who participated in the Challenge, all those who kindly sponsored or contributed and to all those who helped out in any way. The support is very much appreciated and all monies raised goes towards the physical upkeep and maintenance of the hospice.

Without singling out anyone in particular Ciaran Weir would like to sincerely thank William Hughes for all his help and support over the years. I am very lucky to have him on board.

Finally over the past 14 years the Gallant Challenge has been a phenomenal success raising over €389,000 towards Saint Christopher's Hospice Cavan. That is simply down to the great generosity and support from the fantastic people in this region. So many many thanks to everyone and roll on Gallant Challenge 2018
