Carlow duo set to be ratified next week

Carlow are set to ratify Colm Bonnar and Turlough O’Brien as the county senior hurling and football managers respectively at next week’s county board meeting.

There was speculation in the county that O’Brien would not get the backing of club delegates, but those thoughts seem to have dispersed in recent times.

And both men are set to stay on for another year as they look to establish their backroom teams for the coming season.

O’Brien is seeking new selectors, while Bonnar is set to appoint a coach, but these appointments may not be made known until after next week’s meeting.

The county SFC and SHC are heading for the knock out stages and both managers will be keen to begin their preparations in earnest.
