The late Corrie Delaney The death took place on Tuesday, 12 September 2006, in the Sacred Heart Nursing Home in Carlow of Corrie Delaney, Royal Oak Road, Bangelstown County Carlow and formerly of Rosnaclonagh, Coolrain. His remains reposed in the funeral home and were removed to St Andrew's church. Requiem Mass was celebrated by Fr Martin Delaney, CC. St Canice's Kilkenny assisted by Very Rev Fr Declan Foley, PP Bangelstown and Very Rev Fr Pat Dalton PP Gowran. The lessons were read by his nieces and daughter-in-law. Gifts were carried to the Altar by his sister Bridigie and his brother-in-law Jim. Afterwards his remains were laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. Corris and all his brothers were staunch hurlers and all hurled with Camross all their lives. Camross GAA formed a guard of honour at his removal from the funeral home to the church. All his faithful friends from Camross, Wicklow and elsewhere turned up to show their respect for Corrie, the coffin was draped with a Camross jersey. Corrie's wife Annie has asked that a very sincere thanks goes in this column to the GAA and said the family are so proud of their great gesture and she knows Corrie would be equally proud. Corris is mourned by his wife Annie, son Martin, daughter Judith, sisters Bridgie Phelan, Derrycanton, son-in-law, John, daughter-in-law, sisters-in-law, Statie and Mollie, brothers-in-law, Matt and Jim, grandchildren, cousins, friends and neighbours. Corrie was predeceased by his sister Mai (Sr. Aloysuis) Ursline Order, brothers, Joe, Paddy, Mickey, Timmy, Sean and Martin. Courtesy of The Leinster Express 20/09/2006
