HL2A: Kingdom catch the eye in dress rehearsal
March 17, 2014
Kerry's Darragh O'Connell
Kerry 3-14
Carlow 0-17
Austin Stack Park played host to a dress rehearsal for the league final in three weeks' time and the spoils went to the hosts.
The Kingdom put one over former manager John Meyler thanks to goals from Padraig Boyle, Darragh O'Connell and Mikey Boyle.
Boyle and O'Connell found the back of the Carlow net during the opening 35 minutes and Eamonn Kelly's side held a 2-8 to 0-8 advantage at the halfway stage.
Unanswered points from Sean Murphy (2) and frees from David English and Marty Kavanagh saw Carlow cut the deficit to two after the resumption but Boyle's goal sealed a fourth win from as many outings for the Munster men.
