Carlow GAA has taken a novel approach to promoting suicide awareness.

Their senior footballers and hurlers will both be in championship action next weekend and emblazoned across the back of their jerseys will be the words "Suicide Aware: Living Is Winning".

John Meyler's hurlers will be first into action on Saturday when they host newcomers London in the first round of the Leinster championship. Then on Sunday, the Carlow footballers will travel to Mullingar to face Westmeath in their Leinster championship opener. Tweet
