Carlow GAA lost one of its most faithful sons with the sad passing of Mick Halligan last month.
Mick, who died on Sunday, August 8th following a long battle with illness, had spent the last four years of his life at Sacred Heart Hospital in Carlow.
He played with the now defunct Paulville club in the 1950s and later turned out for Grange and won a Leinster Inter-Firms title in the early 1970s with the Insulation Products Ltd side consisting primarily of employees of Fegan's of Grangeford.
Mick's brother, Paddy, is a former treasurer and assistant treasurer of the Carlow County Board and a stalwart of the Grange club.
A blue and white Grange football jersey was placed on Mick's casket during the funeral ceremony.
