Brogan wants the best man for the job

August 20, 2008
Dublin captain Alan Brogan has stressed that the Dublin County Board must concentrate on finding the best man to fill Paul Caffrey's boots and not favour a Dublin native for the job. Brogan had to be withdrawn early from Caffrey's last game in charge of the Leinster Champions last Saturday against Tyrone through injury, and believes that if the Board are to choose the right person for the job then they will have to remain open minded about their options. "At this moment in time I don't have a preference to who gets it," said Brogan. "I know the County Board will go through the correct procedure and choose the right man for the job. "If he is a Dub - great. And if he is not - fine. We need the best man for the job and I have faith in the County Board to find that man." While Mick Deegan leads the front-runners for the Dublin manager position, both Charlie Redmond and Paddy Cullen have backed the option of choosing an outside manager for the first time in the modern era for the Leinster kingpins.
