Ryan: We need to up our performance again
August 19, 2008

Wexford manager Jason Ryan
Wexford manager Jason Ryan has admitted that his side will need to up the ante against Tyrone if they are to do the unthinkable and reach this year's All-Ireland final.
The Model County have already saw off the Ulster Champions and the side that ousted Tyrone from the their provincial championship in both Armagh and Down, but Ryan knows that after the Red Hands hammering of a Dublin side that drubbed them by 23 points they will have to be at their very best if they are to provide another shock in this year's Championship.
"It's going to be a challenge to get the players on the right wavelength," admitted Ryan.
"There is a danger that maybe our players thought that reaching a Leinster final was good enough. On the day something was wrong.
"We'd still talk about what went wrong in the Dublin game - what was it that we did before the Dublin game that we want to avoid before this game with Tyrone?"
"In previous years Wexford hadn't reached a Leinster final. So when you're there maybe there is a sense that you've reached your target.
"The players upped their performances though for the Down and Armagh games - and they'll have to do the same again if we're to have a chance against theses guys."
Wexford take on Tyrone at Croke Park on August 31 and Ryan will be hoping that another upset can be caused against Ulster opposition on the Yellowbellies' behalf.
