Galway manager Ger Loughnane
Galway manager Ger Loughnane has handed championship debuts to James Skehill, Cyril Donnellan and Joe Canning for Saturday's All-Ireland hurling qualifier against Antrim at Casement Park.
Skehill is named in goal, having held the position throughout the National League, while Donnellan, who impressed for Limerick IT in the Fitzgibbon Cup, will lead the attack. Canning has recovered from blood poisoning to a leg injury to make his much-anticipated senior championship debut at top of the left.
The team is also notable for the return of new team captain Ollie Canning after a two-year absence at left corner back, and Eugene Cloonan at full forward. In all, there are six changes from the side which lost to Tipperary in the National League final with Damien Joyce, Ollie Canning, David Forde, Alan Kerins, Donnellan and Cloonan replacing Cathal Dervan, Tony Og Regan, Kevin Hynes, Richie Murray, Ger Farragher and Niall Healy.
Galway (SH v Antrim): J Skehill; D Joyce, F Moore, O Canning; S Kavanagh, J Lee, D Forde; A Cullinane, F Healy; A Kerins, C Donnellan, I Tannian; D Hayes, E Cloonan, J Canning.
