New York delay team selection
May 11, 2008
Due to a number of injury concerns, New York manager Paddy Kearney won't name his team for Sunday's Connacht SFC first round clash with Leitrim at Gaelic Park until just before throw-in.
Based on previous selections against Kerry champions Feale Rangers, the Irish Army and Boston, the Exiles could line out with home grown talented CJ Molloy, nephew of Donegal's 1992 All-Ireland winning captain Anthony Molloy, among the forwards.
Former Leitrim player Alan Foley is expected to be in opposition to his brother Michael, while Sean Munnelly will also be playing against his native county. Former Kerry minor star Dan Doona, who was once linked with a move to Mick O'Dwyer's Wicklow, will be a key man in attack.
New York probable (SFC v Leitrim): P Ryan; S Munnelly, J Mitchell, A Power, A Foley, D Keane, L Maguire; A O'Connor, R Moran; M Higgins, D Hartnett, M Dobbin, D Doona, L O'Donnell, CJ Molloy.
