Fitzgerald opposed to GPA stance

Outspoken double All-Ireland SHC medallist Davy Fitzgerald has explained why he walked away from the GPA and why he stands full-square against their policies.
Although he has rowed in behind the decision by the Cork footballers and hurlers to make a stand about the county team-manager's right to choose his own selectors, Fitzgerald has no truck with the GPA's modus operandi.
"I was a member of the GPA for the first year, but I walked away after that," said the netminder 'cum club and college coach.
"I felt that the GPA was all about money. There are so many other things they could be dealing with such as player burnout and players not being looked after when they're injured."
