Newly-crowned Wexford football champions Clongeen have been forced to concede home advantage to provincial kingpins Moorefield for their Leinster club championship first round clash which will now take place on Sunday. Clongeen, who won their first Wexford SFC title last Sunday following a surprise victory over Starlights, were due to host Moorefield in the provincial series on Sunday week. But a stag party for Clongeen and Wexford star Paddy Colfer is scheduled to take place on the same weekend in Edinburgh. Moorefield agreed to Clongeen's request to bring the fixture forward by a week, with the lone proviso that they get home advantage. As a result the tie will now take place in Clane this Sunday. St. Conleth's Park, which would usually host such a fixture, isn't available because the Kildare SHC final is already scheduled for the venue. "Six lads from the team are going to the stag party," a Clongeen club official explained. "Forfeiting home advantage, and having only a week instead of a two-week recovery period after the Wexford final won't help us, but the stag party was arranged long before the start of the championships."
