Richie Power
A hamstring injury has ruled Richie Power out of Kilkenny's Leinster SHC semi-final against Offaly at Portlaoise on Sunday.
The Carrickshock attacker suffered the injury in training last week and Cats boss Brian Cody has confirmed that he is a definite non-starter. Power's place in the half forward line is expected to be taken by Eoin Larkin. Michael Rice and Eoin McCormack and expected to recover from leg and shoulder injuries respectively to take their places on the subs bench.
The Cats inflicted a crushing 31-point defeat on Offaly two years ago, but Cody is predicting a much closer contest this time around.
"I'm expecting a huge challenge - Offaly will be hungry and they've had a good game and a strong performance against Laois already," he said.
"They scored 1-26 and looked very impressive. Offaly have been building and have put together a very skilful team, a very strong team."
