Morris inspires Bunclody win
April 23, 2007
Wexford minor star Paul Morris scored 0-8 as FCJ Bunclody lifted their first All-Ireland Colleges SHC 'B' title following a 1-11 to 0-8 victory over Cross & Passion, Ballycastle at Swords.
The talented midfielder was on fire as the Wexford school wrote themselves into the history books with a deserved win. Morris opened the scoring after two minutes and Bunclody went three points clear before Ballycastle's Kevin McShane reduced the deficit to two, 0-5 to 0-3, at half-time.
The tie remained finely balanced until the 12th minute of the second half when Bunclody were awarded a contentious penalty. Their goalkeeper John Byrne came forward to take the penalty and made no mistake to give the Wexford lads a six-point lead - an advantage they retained until full-time.
