Honeymoon blues for O'Hara
January 22, 2007
Eamon O'Hara
Sligo 2-9
Leitrim 0-13
Sligo defeated neighbours Leitrim by two-points in an entertaining Connacht FBD League clash, but Tommy Brehony's side had to play the last 20 minutes with 14-men as Eamon O'Hara was dismissed.
O'Hara had just returned from his honeymoon yesterday morning and was named in the Sligo starting XV and they held a four point lead at the interval, 2-3 to 0-5.
O'Hara was then given his marching orders 15 minutes into the second half, but Sligo defended well even though Leitrim battled bravely, but just could not get close enough to their opponents.
Another feature of the match was the return of former Sligo Rovers captain Michael McNamara, who line out for the county for the first time since 2004.
