McCarthy names selectors

Gerald McCarthy as Waterford manager
New Cork hurling boss Gerald McCarthy has included three former county stars in his backroom team for the coming season.
Donie Collins, Ger Fitzgerald and Cathal Casey are joined by Erin's Own manager Martin Bowen, whose name was put forward by the recently crowned county champions. The appointments have been ratified for a two-year term.
Collins, who won a National League medal with the Rebels, is a member of the Blackrock club and previously served as a selector under Donal O'Grady. Both Fitzgerald (Midleton) and Casey (Youghal) were members of the 1990 All-Ireland winning team, while Fitzgerald was also in charge of last year's county minor team.
It had been reported over the weekend that McCarthy would opt for continuity by keeping outgoing selector Joe O'Leary and physical trainer Seanie McGrath on board, but this proved to be without foundation.
