Kerry legend Seamus Moynihan has brought the curtain down on a glorious 14-year inter-county career. The 32-year-old, who is regarded by many as the best defender of his generation, has decided to end his career on a high note in the wake of last weekend's emphatic All-Ireland final victory over Mayo. Moynihan gave an outstanding display from centre back as the Kingdom captured their 34th All-Ireland crown. "I've played my last game for Kerry. It's definitely finished for me," the Glenflesk clubman confirmed. Since making his senior championship debut in 1992, Moynihan has won every honour the game, including four All-Ireland SFC medals, three National League medals, six Munster SFC medals and All-Star awards in 1997 and 2000. While not unexpected, Moynihan's retirement comes as a big blow to the Kingdom and supporters will be keeping their fingers crossed that fellow veteran Darragh O Se doesn't make a similar decision in the coming weeks. Moynihan will make his final appearance in a Kerry jersey when he lines out for the All-Ireland champions against South Kerry in the GOAL challenge in Austin Stack Park on Monday night, September 25.
