'Kennelly going nowhere' - Sholly

January 17, 2006
The man responsible for a host of GAA players being signed up by Aussie Rules clubs is convinced that former Kerry underage star Tadgh Kennelly won't be returning to Ireland for at least another five years. Aussie agent Gerard Sholly has shot down the hopes of legions of Kerry football fans who are hoping that the Listowel native will be back in the Kingdom colours sooner rather than later. Sholly declared: "There is no way that Tadhg Kennelly is going to give up his income, sell his new house, and move back to become an amateur in the GAA in Ireland for at least five years. "Tadhg is only 24 years old and is in the prime of his Australian Rules career. "He could go back and play Gaelic football at the age of 30 or 32. "He is now into the final year of his current contract and is doing what he can to make sure he gets as much money for a new contract. "Nobody can blame him for that but in my opinion he won't leave the Swans for the forseeable future. "I don't think he has any plans to leave Australia for a long time and is trying to raise his profile."
