Texaco awards for O'Neill and O'Connor

Tyrone football star Stephen O'Neill and Cork hurler Jerry O'Connor have been honoured with Texaco Sportstar awards.
Also honoured is Valerie Mulcahy, who a key figure for Cork in their historic All-Ireland ladies football success.
O'Neill, who received the GPA Footballer of the Year award earlier this month, made an outstanding contribution to Tyrone's second All-Ireland title win in three years. The Clan na nGael man had a massive impact, chalking up 5-50 during the Red Hands' marathon championship campaign.
It was also a year to remember for Jerry O'Connor who helped Cork successfully defend their All-Ireland hurling title. The Newtownshandrum clubman formed a powerful midfield partnership with Tom Kenny, and weighed in with some crucial scores, including the winning point against Clare in the All-Ireland semi-final.
