Rogan lashes Antrim board
November 23, 2005
Former Antrim hurler and selector Gerard Rogan has called for clubs in the county to oust the county board executive from power.
The O'Donovan Rossa man was livid at how his failed application for the Antrim senior post was handled. Rogan described his 20-minute interview as "a joke" and claimed that it was "a done deal" before he was interviewed on Monday night last.
"It is about time the clubs and the people get these people out for once and for all," he blasted.
"If they are not interested in bringing the county forward, not just hurling, they should just get out. Hurling people in Antrim are in shock at the moment."
Jim McKiernan of the Sarsfields club has been recommended by the Antrim Management Committee to succeed Dinny Cahill, and his appointment is expected to be ratified by the county committee next Tuesday, November 29.
