Barry plumps for college life

Kilkenny hurler Bryan Barry has decided to line out for UCD in this weekend's Leinster club senior hurling competition rather than take his place on his home club, Dicksboro's, intermediate provincial tie.
The ace midfielder will line out in the SHC semi-final against Wexford's Oulart-The Ballagh rather than face Marshalstown of Wexford in his home pitch at Dicksboro on Sunday next.
It has come to light though that by playing for UCD against Birr last weekend, Barry, a medical student, ruled himself out of action for the Marshalstown duel.
"The new ruling applies if you are involved in senior and intermediate competitions, and in that case you must choose who you want to play for and stick with them, and Bryan Barry has already played for UCD," said the Leinster Council's Michael Reynolds.
