Carter can't forgive Cody

Charlie Carter
In his soon-to-be-launched book, 'Triumphs and Troubles', former Kilkenny hurler Charlie Carter says he'll never forgive the manager of the Cats, Brian Cody, for dropping him two years ago when he was in peak form and the captain of the team. "No, I won't ever forgive him for what went on in 2003," he said. "There were a lot of things that shouldn't have been said - anything I did right seemed to be wrong - and I couldn't understand how, after scoring 1-6, all from play, against Dublin, I was dropped the next day. "Cody had laid it on the line that he hadn't picked the captain, the club had, and obviously I wasn't in his plans, but I was playing as well as ever, and ended up top scorer from play in the League from limited opportunities. "I thought things might work out better and that I would have some role to play against Dublin in the championship but what he did to me in Nowlan Park in front of my own fans was something that I didn't take too kindly," Carter wrote. Carter's book is due to be launched on November 17th next.
