Joyce says Irish won't be intimidated

International Rules skipper Padraic Joyce has insisted that Ireland will not be cowed out of facing up to whatever rough-house treatment is meted out by the Aussies in the country's upcoming two test series.
The Galway star believes that there is enough experience and strength in the Irish squad to ensure that the hosts don't manage to intimidate Ireland in a couple of weeks time.
"The intimidation comes and goes as we've seen over the years.
"We all remember the incident with Peter Canavan a few years ago but that's all in the past at this stage.
"I don't think there's too much intimidation during the matches.
"They will try to unnerve us because they are a proud nation who won't have taken last year's defeat too kindly.
"However the panel that has been selected is by no means small and we'll be able to look after ourselves."
