Newly appointed Cork senior football manager Ronan McCarthy has unveiled the members of his backroom team.

10-time All-Ireland Ladies winning coach Eamonn Ryan will stay on as a selector having also been involved with Peadar Healy's management team and he will be joined by Sean Hayes and 1999 All-Star half-back Ciaran O'Sullivan, who was as a selector with Brian Cuthbert from 2014 to 2015.

Nemo Rangers clubman Hayes has also been appointed as coach to the Cork U20 football team, providing a vital link between this grade and the Senior team.

In addition, Macroom's Bobby Dwyer will take charge of the Cork Minor team (U17) for a two year term.

Cork chairman Gerard Lane said: "I'm very pleased to see such highly qualified people take on these important roles. Having management teams in place at this early stage will be very beneficial in preparation for the coming year.

"I would like to thank Ronan McCarthy for his work in appointing his selection committee. Eamonn, Sean and Ciarán bring a wealth of experience and knowledge with them to this role and I wish them every success."

Lane also thanked Dwyer for accepting the position of minor coach, adding: "This is an important age group for Cork to build on if we are to have successful U20 and Senior teams into the future."

He concluded: "Cork football is in good hands and with the support and backing of everyone in Cork GAA, we can look forward to 2018 and beyond."
