John Evans was last night ratified as the new Wicklow senior football manager.
The former Tipperary and Roscommon boss has been given a three-year term by Garden County chiefs.
The highly-regarded Kerry native succeeds former Dublin midfielder Johnny Magee and his first challenge will be to try to get Wicklow out of Division Four.
Evans oversaw back-to-back promotions when in charge of both the Premier County and the Rossies, so optimism is rife in the Garden that better times are around the corner.
