Mickey Harte wants to continue as Tyrone manager for a 16th year, despite yesterday's crushing loss to Dublin.

The 12-point All-Ireland SFC semi-final defeat was the heaviest of his tenure in the championship, but he made it clear that he didn't want to bow out on such a disappointing note.

"I do, I do. I think I've made that suggestion many times during the year. I do expect to be here," said Harte, whose future will be decided by the county board.

"It's not in my hands. Somebody else might choose to do something different - that's their prerogative to do so. At this point in time, I've no intention of walking away.

"I don't believe believe that we should sort of give up and say 'This is an impossible task'," he said of closing the gap on Dublin.

"There's nothing impossible, if you put your mind to it. I believe we'll be capable of coming back and reaching the level that's required out there."
