Colin Fennelly will miss Kilkenny's 2018 Allianz Hurling League campaign due to UN peacekeeping duty in the Lebanon.

The Irish Independent reports that the army man won't return until next April, meaning he will miss the entire campaign.

Retired Kilkenny star Eoin Larkin and Tipperary's Patrick 'Bonner' Maher are other high-profile hurlers who have served tours of duty overseas in recent times.
