The thought of facing Kilkenny in Semple Stadium excites Tipperary manager Michael Ryan.

On Saturday night, the sides go toe to toe in a repeat of last year's All-Ireland SHC final.

Tipp are unbeaten in the NHL 1A campaign so far, while Kilkenny picked up their first points when defeating Cork last weekend.

And Ryan told the Tipperary Star that no matter what's at stake, it is always good when these two sides meet.

"Yeah, we have Kilkenny coming to town here. It's a little unusual for us as it's our second night-time game and we usually get away with one, but it's two this year," said Ryan.

"Gathering up points for Kilkenny is huge. We love a chance to play Kilkenny - they are always ding-dong battles so we will be trying to give up nothing whatsoever in that one."
