Defending champions Corofin will face Cortoon Shamrocks in the opening round of the 2017 Galway senior football championship.

Less than a week after their exit from the All-Ireland club SFC at the hands of Kerry's Dr Crokes at Croke Park, Corofin must now turn their attention to the domestic scene in their own county again.

The meeting with Cortoon Shamrocks is a repeat of the 2008 SFC final, which Corofin won on a scoreline of 0-08 to 0-05.

Last year's beaten finalists Salthill/Knocknacarra will meet their old rivals Milltown, while other notable ties include Tuam Stars taking on Killannin and Annaghadown's meeting with Killererin.

The full draw is as follows: St Michael's v. Naomh Ann/Leitir Mor; Monivea - Abbeyknockmoy v. Kilconly; Salthill/Knocknacarra v. Milltown; Moycullen v. Michael Breathnach; Annaghdown v. Killererin; Caltra v. St James; Killannin v. Tuam Stars; Caherlistrane v. Barna; Cortoon Shamrocks v. Corofin; Mountbellew/Moylough v. An Cheathru Rua.
