Winning your home games in the Allianz NFL Division Three campaign is imperative, according to Tipperary manager Liam Kearns.

Following the first round of games, it is clearly evident that Division Three looks set to be a very tight campaign.

Tipp opened their campaign with a good win over Antrim in the first of their four home games and they play the second of those matches this Sunday when they host Sligo at Semple Stadium.

"Sligo and Armagh drew and Laois were comprehensively beaten. So it is important to win your home games," Kearns stated to the Tipperary Star.

"In all the games on Saturday night, the away teams won. Louth came out of Laois with a 12-point win and when you think Clare were promoted last year on points difference you must win your home games. We have four home matches."
