Wexford chairman Diarmuid Devereux can look back on his five-year term with a great deal of satisfaction.

Having stood down at the annual GAA convention, Devereux now has time to take stock of his tenure in charge of Wexford's affairs.

During his time, the county have turned around their financial fortunes, they have completed their Centre of Excellence in Ferns and he leaves having attracted high profile managers in Davy Fitzgerald and Seamus McEnaney.

Devereux told delegates that it was not all plain sailing during his term, but with the hard work of everyone involved, they got there.

"We had good times, we had bad times, blazing rows but everyone is interested in moving forward," stated Devereux.

"Another highlight for me was the opening of the Centre of Excellence in Ferns, which took a lot of work. For their help I would like to thank the Leinster Council, Croke Park and the three main political parties. Now we have the centre for Feile, for all inter-county teams training."

Succeeding Devereux is Derek Kent who has outlined his plans for the coming year.
