Eoghan Rua mourns teen's tragic death

The Eoghan Rua GAA club in Coleraine has been left heartbroken by the tragic death of one of its young footballers.
Reece Meenan, who was due to celebrate his 14th birthday next week, was the victim of a hit-and-run accident in Coleraine on Saturday evening. A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death, but was released by the PSNI last night pending further inquiries.
The deceased teenager was a member of the Eoghan Rua U14 team that won a Derry 'B' league and championship double last year.
"It's a terrible tragedy for the family. Everyone is in shock with what happened," Eoghan Rua secretary Kevin Mullan said in the Irish News.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family."
