The redeveloped Cusack Park in Ennis won't have floodlighting.

With stage two of the development, which includes the construction of toilet blocks, a parking area, entrance and turnstiles at the Cloister end of the ground about to commence, Clare chairman Joe Cooney confirmed to delegates at this week's county board meeting that there are no plans for floodlighting at present due to a lack of funds.

The meeting also heard that €13,500 has so far been raised for a statue of Michael Cusack at the entrance to Clare GAA headquarters. The monument, which will be 2.44 metres high (including the plinth), will cost €24,000 in total. It's hoped to have the statue of the GAA's founding father in place next year to coincide with the 170th anniversary of the Carran man's birth.
