St. Gall's set up an intriguing Antrim senior football final clash with holders Cargin after they saw off the stern challenge of Lamh Dhearg tonight.

Three weeks after capturing their seventh All-Ireland 7s title, St. Gall's were pushed all the way by their Belfast rivals before eventually coming out on top - 1-7 to 0-8 - at Ahoghill.

A low-scoring first half saw St. Gall's lead 1-2 to 0-1 at the interval with the goal arriving from the boot of Sean Kelly in the 20th minute. Lamh Dhearg managed nine wides during the opening 30 minutes but found their rhythm after the break and kicked five unanswered points to go one ahead entering the final quarter - 0-6 to 1-2.

However, St. Gall's sprung CJ McGourty from the bench and the former county star levelled matters within three minutes of his introduction. McGourty hit a further three points in the closing stages to help edge his side through to next weekend's decider after a one-year absence.
