Dermot Carlin is on course to make his first championship appearance of the year in the Tyrone SFC final.

The former Red Hands county man has missed all the earlier rounds due to a back injury but could feature for Killyclogher in the decider against either Coalisland or Clonoe on Sunday week.

Team trainer John McElholm is confident that the two-times All-Ireland winner will be available to last year's beaten finalists: "Dermy will do everything in his power to make sure to make sure that he's out on that field come Sunday week," he told The Irish News.

"Ironically, it's an injury that has nothing to do with football, although the wear and tear down through the years probably hasn't helped. It's a lower back injury. I fully expect to see Dermy togged out at Healy Park on Sunday week."
