Sean MacCumhaills 2-13
Burt 2-9
Captain Lee Henderson hit 10 points as Sean MacCumhaills denied Burt a six-in-a-row of Donegal SHC titles in O'Donnell Park, Letterkenny yesterday.
MacCumhaills were full value for what was only their second ever Munster Cup, with Ronan McDermott's late goal for the holders being a mere consolation score. The winners signalled their intent by racing into an early 0-5 to 0-1 lead before David White's 21st minute goal extended their advantage.
But Conor Harkin replied with a major to leave the champions just two points adrift, 1-5 to 1-7, at the break.
Aaron McAuley steadied MacCumhaills' when he struck for their second goal early in the second half, and they never looked back after that as county star Henderson pointed the way.
