Team news: McGowan only change for Royals

September 09, 2016

Meath's Gavin McGown shoots as Andrew Hughes Wicklow closes in during the All Ireland U21 B quarter final in Trim.

Corner-forward Gavin McGowan is Meath's only change for tomorrow's All-Ireland U21HC B decider against Mayo at Semple Stadium, Thurles.

The senior panellist regains his place in the inside line ahead of Ryan Moore who he came on as a substitute for in the nine-point semi-final victory over Kerry three weeks ago.

Philip O'Brien's charges are aiming to claim the county's second title in this competition, having lost to Wicklow at the final stage twelve months ago.

A haul of 2-7 from 2016 captain Jack Regan was not enough for O'Brien's men in last season's showdown as they went down on a scoreline of 2-17 to 2-15.

Meath (U21HC v Mayo): Charlie Bird; Conor Dempsey, Iarla Hughes, Liam Ferguson; Sean Coloe, Ronan Ryan, David Reilly; Sean Quigley, Sean McGrath; Jack Regan, Stefan Kelly, Eamon O Donnacha; Gavin McGowan, Ross Ryan, Luke Martyn.
