Donegal manager Sean Paul Barrett believes the standard of this year's Ulster minor football championship can stand to his side against Galway.

The two teams face off in this Sunday's All-Ireland MFC semi-final at Croke Park and with Donegal as the only Ulster side remaining in the last four, Barrett hopes they can do their province justice.

"I want the boys to do Ulster proud," Barrett told the Belfast Telegraph. "We know we are going in against a good Galway side but I honestly think that the standard of opposition we met in winning the Ulster Championship will stand to us against them.

"We were given a real scare by Antrim in particular before we won by 2-11 to 2-7 and then against Derry in the final we had to work our socks off to get over the line.

"I think the matches at minor level in Ulster this year have been superb and while Derry may have lost their All-Ireland quarter-final to Kerry, they did themselves more than justice."

On the game itself, Barrett added that his side can't fall behind early on against the Tribesmen: "We can't afford to find ourselves chasing this tie in particular. When you reach this stage of the competition, the pressure is really on."

Throw-in at Croke Park is at 1.30pm.
