Tipperary star Michael Quinlivan says victory over Galway in today's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final would propel the Premier County to new heights.

Drawing comparisons to Fermanagh's incredible run to an All-Ireland semi-final back in 2004, the Clonmel Commercials clubman believes a win over the Tribesmen would eclipse what Charlie Mulgrew's team achieved 12 years ago.

"If we reach an All-Ireland semi-final it would be up there and maybe even beyond what Fermanagh did in 2004," Quinlivan is quoted as saying in today's Irish Mirror.

"Considering where we've come from and the fact that Tipperary has been a hurling county it would be something incredible for us.

"But Galway are waiting in the long grass. They've had longer to recover from their last game so we can only just go in there and give it our best."

Throw-in for today's game at Croke Park is at 4pm.
