Tipperary U21 boss William Maher is hopeful his team can emulate the county's recent Munster SHC triumph when they take on Limerick this evening.

The young Premier men battle it out with the Shannonsiders at Semple Stadium for a place in the Munster U21HC final and Maher recognises that the Thurles venue won't be much of an advantage against the defending All-Ireland champions.

"Supporters in the county are really, really happy after last Sunday as the way Tipp played and the margin of victory were just so encouraging," Maher told the Irish Examiner.

"We will try and take a lot from that performance. We are in a very unusual situation where Limerick are 2/1 favourites coming to Thurles with 12 of their All-Ireland winning team. This Limerick group would have played more in Thurles than a lot of our fellas. We don't train there so I wouldn't say we have an advantage from it being in Thurles."

Throw-in at Semple Stadium this evening is at 7.30pm.
