Wexford produced a sensational display at Semple Stadium to beat Cork by 0-23 to 1-17.

Lee Chin and Conor McDonald were outstanding for Liam Dunne's men, who have beaten the Rebel County in the championship for the first time in 60 years.

The sides were level six times inside the opening 18 minutes before the Model County got on top to lead by three points at the break, 0-12 to 0-9, with McDonald on target eight times before the break and the Rebels notching injury-time scores from Conor Lehane (2) and Patrick Horgan to keep themselves in touch.

The visitors still led until Daniel Kearney took advantage of an error in their defence to net on the hour - 1-15 to 0-17.

Wexford, who had missed a couple of excellent goal-scoring chances themselves in the second half, responded brilliantly to the concession of that major - the magnificent Chin's point had them level instantly and points were traded before Chin (his fourth) and McDonald (free; his 13th score of the game) made it 0-21 to 1-16 with a minute of normal time left.

Lehane's point was cancelled out by Liam Og McGovern's match-securing brace and the underdogs led by three going into three minutes of added time. There were no further scores as the brilliant Slaneysiders progressed to an All-Ireland quarter-final and Cork's season came to a bitterly disappointing end.
