Sligo cantered to victory in an all-Connacht SF 2A Qualifier at Markievicz Park, beating Leitrim by 2-15 to 0-10.

This game was over as a contest long before the winners bagged second-half goals from Kyle Cawley and Darragh Cummins in the 46th and 75th minutes respectively.

With 4,227 looking on, a dominant first-half display saw the hosts lead by 0-12 to 0-4 at the short whistle, with Niall Murphy the stand-out figure during that period, helping himself to five excellent points.

Mark Breheny (2) and Emlyn Mulligan got the first three scores before Brian Egan, Murphy (3) and Egan hit five successive Yeats County points to make it 0-7 to 0-1.

Kevin McDonnell, Mulligan and Donal Wrynn had the visitors back within four but Niall Carew's men closed the half with a brace apiece from Murphy and Marren to lead by eight at the break.

James Hynes increased the gap upon the restart and Mulligan pulled back two frees either side of a converted Marren '45' before Cawley banished any lingering doubt as to who'd advance with a 46th-minute major to leave eleven between them.

It was still a ten-point game when Nevin O'Donnell registered for the visitors, 1-14 to 0-7. Breheny cancelled out a Conor Gaffney point; O'Donnell and Darren Sweeney pulled back two late consolation scores for Leitrim; and it was fitting that the winners closed the scoring with a Cummins goal five minutes into injury time.
