Waterford manager Tom McGlinchey believes that his charges can cause an upset in Sunday's Munster SFC clash against Tipperary.

The Decies go into the match as 4/1 underdogs, but McGlinchey has been delighted with their preparations for the clash.

However, he does acknowledge the fact that it will be a tough ask for his charges, but added a winning performance is well within their capabilities.

"It's going to be a hard task. They are playing in Division Three and we didn't get out of Division Four. That's the reality. That's the one thing about the National Football League, it's the most level competition we have," McGlinchey told the Waterford News & Star.

"Tipp are playing at a higher level but we would be fairly hopeful, we've brought in a few new players in this year and they've played well and made their debuts in the league.

"Championship is a different kettle of fish and Tipperary over the last four or five years, they've been there or thereabouts. They started very well against Kerry last year and had a good run in the qualifiers until Tyrone beat them."
