Tipperary manager Michael Ryan is hopeful that a number of niggling injuries will clear up before Sunday's Munster SHC clash against Cork.

The sides meet in a titanic battle at Semple Stadium and Ryan is eager to have as strong a side as possible to face the Rebels.

One player definitely out is defender Barry Heffernan who is not allowed play due to concussion protocols.

Ryan also has concerns over the likes of Brendan Maher, John McGrath and Cathal Barrett, but he remains hopeful that all three will be passed fit to play.

"We are looking forward to the game now and even though we have had a lot of niggly injury worries, we hope to have most of the lads available," said Ryan.

"It will be a massive game for Tipperary - any time you have Cork coming to Semple Stadium is a big occasion - and the ball is absolutely flying off the ground at the present time. We're looking forward to a great day and great game."
