Dublin's Eoghan O'Donnell

Dublin defender Eoghan O'Donnell says he doesn't get caught up in the hype of big name players before going out to mark them.

Speaking at the launch of the Bord Gais Energy All-Ireland U21HC, O'Donnell was looking ahead to the Dubs' Leinster SHC quarter-final against Wexford on Saturday when he knows he and his teams mates will need to be on top form to ensure the Slayneysiders don't cause an upset.

"It's kind of intimidating going out and marking them, but every hurler is just a hurler and you have to go out and mark them," O'Donnell told the Irish Daily Star.

"I marked Richie Hogan against Kilkenny, Patrick Horgan against Cork, Colin Dunford, Waterford. Every player at this level is going to be top class.

"If you are looking at names before the game…really you have to be focusing on the task at hand, and tuning out of what they've done in the past.

"I know Wexford's corner-forwards are going to be top class."

Throw-in at Croke Park on Saturday is at 7.15pm.
